Liverpool is reportedly working on a deal to sign Atalanta’s defensive midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, according to Corriere dello Sport. The Dutchman is also said to be monitored by Juventus and Napoli, but Liverpool has reportedly taken the first steps towards signing the 25-year-old. Other Premier League clubs are also reportedly interested in Koopmeiners, making him a complicated signing for Atalanta’s Serie A rivals. The Italian club is expected to ask for an amount “well above his valuation of €35 to 40 million”. Koopmeiners joined Atalanta from AZ for €14m in 2021 and has become a highly valued star in Bergamo, scoring seven goals and assisting in 31 matches this season.
