According to The Telegraph, Mauricio Pochettino played a role in Chelsea’s decision to freeze season ticket prices ahead of the 2022-23 season. Pochettino reportedly places a significant importance on building a connection between players, the club, and fans. Raising season ticket prices during a time of economic uncertainty would have made that connection harder to achieve. A club statement confirmed that adult general admission season tickets have been frozen since 2011/12 and that season ticket prices have fallen in real terms by 32% since 2005. The club is also aware of the rise in the cost of living and its impact on supporters, which is why the board has decided to freeze GA season tickets for the 2023/24 season.

Pochettino’s transfer wishlist

According to the Daily Mail, Mauricio Pochettino has identified three key areas that need upgrading in Chelsea’s squad if he takes over as manager this summer. The former Tottenham Hotspur boss believes a new goalkeeper, a new central midfielder, and a new striker are needed to strengthen the team’s spine. Pochettino would prefer to sign players with Premier League experience, and his transfer wishlist aligns with Chelsea’s reported interest in Brentford’s David Raya and Ivan Toney. However, Pochettino is aware that outgoings will be prioritized during the early weeks of the transfer window. He is reportedly keen on signing a midfield partner for Enzo Fernandez, considering concerns over Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante’s future at the club. Kovacic has been linked with a move to Manchester City, while Kante’s contract is set to expire in June.
