According to reports in Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a role at Real Madrid just three months after becoming the highest-paid player in the world at Al-Nassr. Ronaldo moved to the Saudi Arabian club in January after his Manchester United contract was terminated by mutual consent following an unsanctioned interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticized the club. Despite wanting to stay in Europe and continue adding to his record of 140 goals in the Champions League, no suitable offers materialized, prompting him to sign with Al-Nassr on a €200 million per year contract. However, reports suggest he is already having doubts and that Real Madrid is ready to offer him a way out.
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been offered a role at Real Madrid, little more than three months after becoming the game’s highest paid player at Al-Nassr.
Perez ‘has guaranteed’ Ronaldo work
According to El Nacional, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has offered Cristiano Ronaldo a job at the Santiago Bernabeu, should he decide to leave Al-Nassr and return to Spain. While it would not be as a player, Perez reportedly believes that Ronaldo could serve as an ambassador for the club or in a role within the sports organization. Ronaldo is Real’s record goalscorer, having scored 450 goals in 438 games between 2009 and 2018, and has emotional ties to the city, having met his wife Georgina Rodriguez there. Ronaldo has scored 11 goals in 14 games for Al-Nassr, but the club is trailing rivals Al-Ittihad. It is believed that Saudi Arabia’s strict social laws and the language barrier may also be motivating factors for Ronaldo’s desire to return to Spain.
