Luka Modric, whose contract at Real Madrid expires in June, has been linked with a move to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr. Modric has been a loyal club servant to Real Madrid since joining in 2012, making 473 appearances and winning five Champions League titles. He won four of those titles alongside Ronaldo, who is now playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo became the world’s highest-paid footballer on €200m a year when he joined Al-Nassr in January after being released by Manchester United. However, despite not yet signing a renewal at Real Madrid, Modric has insisted that he has no intention of leaving.

Modric: ‘My wish is to stay at Real’

Luka Modric has reiterated his desire to stay at Real Madrid until the end of his career, despite speculation linking him with a move to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Speaking at a press conference ahead of Croatia’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Wales, Modric said that his wish is to stay at Real Madrid, and that any other speculation is just that. He also emphatically denied that he would have to end his Croatia career to continue with Madrid.
