According to reports from Bild, Real Madrid’s CEO Jose Angel Sanchez and a delegation are set to meet with Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham to finalize a deal. Bellingham was previously linked with a move to Liverpool, but the club opted to source several players in his position rather than paying the asking price for the England international.
Reports suggest that Real Madrid and Dortmund are discussing a fee of just over €100m plus add-ons, which is lower than Dortmund’s initial asking price of €140m. Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe, but it is unlikely unless they bid an astronomical fee, as Lionel Messi and Neymar are expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain. It remains to be seen if the negotiations between Real Madrid and Dortmund will be successful.
Real not in for Mbappe
According to a report from Marca, Real Madrid’s trajectory with Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr means that the club is unlikely to make a move for Kylian Mbappe. The report suggests that Real Madrid does not foresee any scenario that involves a negotiation with Paris Saint-Germain and does not want to add to their competition’s bank balance. Real Madrid is currently focused on continuing their dominance in Europe and winning the Champions League again this season, having won it last season. They are set to play Manchester City in the second-leg semifinal tonight, with the winner going on to play Inter Milan in the final. Inter Milan booked their place in the final with a 1-0 win over Milan at the San Siro on Tuesday, following a 2-0 win in the second leg of their semifinal against their arch-rivals. The final will take place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
