Throughout the season,7 Little Johnstons celeb Liz Johnston has her hands full raising Leighton Bolden. Recently, the young mom dished on what it’s like raising an average-size baby. So, what did she have to say about it?

In recent episodes of Season 14 of 7 Little Johnstons, viewers were finally rewarded with what they had been eagerly waiting for. TLC had been teasing Liz Johnston’s journey as she welcomed her baby with Brice Bolden throughout the entire season. This storyline became the focal point of the show.

However, as dedicated fans of 7 Little Johnstons and TLC know, the network likes to keep the drama going. This left some viewers uncertain about whether Leighton’s arrival would be fully shown in this season. Fortunately, the network made the decision to include her birth, allowing viewers to meet her rather than leaving them hanging until the next season.

With the arrival of baby Leighton Bolden, not only did Liz Johnston and Brice Bolden have to adapt to their new roles as parents, but the entire 7 Little Johnstons family also had to acclimate to their new family member, who is of average size. Jonah Johnston even jokingly remarked that by the time Leighton becomes a toddler, she would be able to borrow clothes from Emma Johnston.

Some 7 Little Johnstons fans have even criticized Amber Johnston, as she appeared visibly disappointed that her first grandchild was not going to be a little person. Despite Amber’s advocacy for little people, some viewers feel that she may have taken it too far.

One aspect that Liz Johnston had to navigate while raising her newborn, who is of average size, was finding a crib that she and her family could easily access without needing a stool. Fortunately, she found a solution with a company specializing in cribs for parents in wheelchairs, making it more convenient for them as well.

Liz mentioned that one of the most challenging parts of being a new mom has been dealing with strangers in public. She told TODAY, “People are curious about what kind of baby a 4-foot-tall mom has. They try to take sneaky pictures, approach us, touch the stroller, and get close to her. There have been moments when my ‘mean mom’ mode comes out, and I have to firmly say no.”

Looking ahead, Liz Johnston shared their plan to work hard in order to purchase land and build their own home by the end of the year. With baby Leighton growing bigger each day, Liz and Brice have a solid plan in place to create the life they envision, and 7 Little Johnstons fans will be there to witness their journey.
