Meri Brown and Janelle Brown, stars of Sister Wives, both experienced the loss of their mothers during the pandemic. However, there has been confusion among fans regarding the cause of their mothers’ deaths. Let’s clarify the situation to set things right.

Meri Brown’s mother, Bonnie Barber, passed away in March 2021. Although the news was only covered on the TLC show in Season 17, Bonnie’s cause of death was not related to COVID-19. According to the show, Bonnie suffered a heart attack, and Meri was unable to reach her bedside in Utah before she passed away. Meri’s sister, Elaine, explained on social media that their mother was in the ICU before her passing.

Meri Brown shared on Instagram that her mother passed away “unexpectedly” at the age of 76. There is no indication that Bonnie had a terminal illness like cancer, leading to confusion among some fans. It appears that Bonnie passed away due to heart complications after experiencing the flu, not from cancer.

On the other hand, Janelle Brown’s mother, Sheryl, did have cancer. Sister Wives fans witnessed the funeral of Janelle’s mother, who passed away before the Christmas holidays. There is no indication that Sheryl’s death was related to COVID-19.

In a recent discussion on Reddit, some fans expressed confusion about whether Meri Brown’s mother died from COVID-19, a heart attack, or cancer. One fan questioned if Bonnie had died from COVID-19 based on a comment made by Janelle. However, this information is incorrect.

The truth is that Bonnie thought she had the flu but, when taken to the doctor, it was discovered that she had suffered a heart attack. Bonnie passed away as a result of the heart attack. While the flu can lead to complications such as heart failure, neither Meri Brown nor Janelle Brown lost their mothers to COVID-19.
