Former Al-Nassr player Adrian Mierzejewski recently mocked Cristiano Ronaldo on Twitter for his failure to lead the club to any silverware this season. While Ronaldo has been in impressive form personally, scoring 12 goals in 12 games for Al-Nassr, the team has struggled to achieve success on the field. A recent loss to Al-Hilal in the Riyadh Derby ended their title hopes, and the club was also knocked out of the King Cup of Champions by relegation-battling Al-Wehda.

Former Al-Nassr player Adrian Mierzejewski has taken to Twitter to mock Cristiano Ronaldo due to the latter’s failure to lead his club to silverware this season.

Ronaldo’s attitude problems have also been evident off the pitch, with reports suggesting that he played a role in the sacking of former manager Rudi Garcia and publicly criticized a member of staff shortly thereafter. Despite his individual success, Ronaldo’s time in Saudi Arabia has been marred by team-level disappointment and controversy.

What did Mierzejewski say?

Former Al-Nassr midfielder Adrian Mierzejewski mocked Cristiano Ronaldo on Twitter for his performance against Al-Raed. In a quote-tweet of a video of Ronaldo celebrating a goal, Mierzejewski wrote sarcastically: “That moment when you lost the Supercup, you were eliminated in the semi-final of the Copa, you lost the derby to Hilal, which means no championship 99%, but you scored against Al Raed and your team won 4-0.”

Mierzejewski, who has 41 caps for the Polish national team, spent two years with Al-Nassr between 2014 and 2016, winning one league title. He has played in China for the past few years after stints in the United Arab Emirates and with Sydney FC in Australia.
