According to a report from the Mail, Chelsea have agreed terms with Mauricio Pochettino to become their new head coach, and this could spell disaster for Liverpool. The report suggests that Pochettino will look to keep hold of Mason Mount and target Alexis Mac Allister, both of whom are key targets for Jurgen Klopp. Pochettino likes both players and will look to utilise them at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season. It is reported that Pochettino will collaborate with Chelsea’s sporting directors and Frank Lampard, the current interim head coach, before the season ends. Pochettino was considered the favourite to take up the role, but it took a while for the finer details to be ironed out.

New era for Chelsea

The paragraph talks about Chelsea’s torrid season, during which they failed to secure a Champions League or Europa League spot. They sacked Thomas Tuchel at the beginning of the campaign and hired Graham Potter from Brighton, but he was unable to turn around the club’s fortunes and was sacked last month despite getting Chelsea into the Champions League quarterfinals. Club legend Frank Lampard took over on a temporary basis but has also struggled to get the team going in the right direction. Mauricio Pochettino, who led Tottenham to their best-ever Premier League campaign and a Champions League runners-up finish, has been hired as Chelsea’s new head coach. Pochettino was sacked after a poor start to the subsequent season but went on to win the Coupe de France and the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain.
